We came for a funeral and parked outside this shop. Felt guilty and went in to purchase a bit but ended up buying quite a bit. What a great shop. Something that everyone would bd proud to have in their village

Was really disappointed with our experience here. Bought 3 pieces of beef, 2 tomahawks and 1 forerib (over 120 quid). All 3 pieces of beef were Scotch which should have been a giveaway- why the need to be buying Scotch beef when you're based in the middle of a well known beef farming area? The Tomahawks were also frozen.... again not necessarily a problem but why......? Ate the forerib on the first night. It was fine. Nothing special at all just mediocre meat, could probably have got the same from a supermarket. I have just opened one of the Tomahawks....... its definitely not been looked after. A very strong smell of rotten meat combined with some obvious discolouration. We farm beef cattle in Norfolk and deal with a couple of well known butchers so I'm aware of what beef should look and smell like out of vac-pack. This is actually rotten. Massively disappointing.

Have been coming here for years. Came in today and needed 4 T-Bone steaks and a small Sirloin. The bearded guy behind the counter cut us 4 fresh steaks as the one on the counter was too thin. Fantastic service. Meat was cooked on a griddle and they were all Fantastic fresh cuts of meat. Will always have my custom, steaks were loved by all.

An excellent "step-back-in-time" sort of place. All the meat looked delicious. Beautifully and temptingly presented. We purchased an assortment, beef burgers, pork ribs, sausages and a rib roast. Butcher was rolling up and tying pork joints. Marvelous to watch someone so skilled working.

Paul and all his team at Marchants are superb at what they do producing fantastic quality meats/cuts throughout the year and the delivery service throughout the pandemic was such a great support. All the added extras for Christmas including the Christmas prezzies have been greatly appreciated too. The shop in Bethersden is a credit to everyone for its produce and service. Highly recommended!

Went to see the butcher , bought some lovely pork chops ,sirloin steak and stuffed chicken breast , all tasted beautiful . They also have a great range of cakes which we tried a couple and were delicious , cheese is also available but we didn't try that ,at this visit, but will be going back ,well worth a visit .
